Linda Zoblotsky is LUVCHILD!
This entertaining, musical and educational play explores the journey of an adopted woman as she is looking for her Mother and her Identity.
Music and Lyrics by the Award-Winning Howard Beckerman with 2 songs by Linda Zoblotsky, Inspired and co-written by Rick Paul with Uplifting direction by Wendall Goings.
People are curious about how adopted people cope with missing information about their ethnicity, moods, quirks and siblings? Adopted people want to know, "What do my birthparents look like? Do we have the same talents? Why did they give me up?" There are 6,000,000 adopted people in the United States.
Audiences, students and the adoption family community can learn and understand why adopted people want to connect to their original families in this humorous and thoughtful play.
Right now the adoption community has great interest in the passing of the New York State Bill A6238, The Bill of Adoptee Rights. This legislation would give adopted adults absolute right to access to their original birth certificates and other identifying information. Adopted adults, birthparents and adoptive families, are working to open birth records in Maryland. As of 2004, adopted adults can now obtain their original birth certificate in NH.
Adopted people, who choose to search for their natural parents, are following that Eastern star to their roots.
